Community Support:

A strong membership is an important indicator of community support. Members of clinics are volunteers who uphold the principles of the clinic. They are members not for personal profit, but rather to benefit the community served by the clinic. They help staff to keep in touch with the needs of the community by identifying issues and problems as they come up. Members help to shape the services provided by the clinic to address local needs. They contribute to the annual planning and evaluation process by the board to establish goals for the next year and review the current work of the clinic.

Community legal clinics welcome the participation of individuals and organisations who share their aims and objectives and encourage you to become a member of the clinic in your area. Members are kept informed of clinic activities, most importantly at an annual general meeting. Once a year an election is held to fill vacancies on the boards of directors.
